Simulation Results
I was part of a club that built a small rocket in the fall and a large rocket in the spring. For the spring project, I collaborated with a group of 5 people to design and build a seven-foot rocket over the course of 3 months.
My responsibilities:
Planned rocket dimensions and ran simulations to confirm a successful flight was possible using OpenRocket
Worked on part of the SolidWorks design of the custom flame rocket fins, which satisfied the creative element that was required in the build
Laser cut electronics housings and 3D printed bulkheads
Assembled the rocket with the team and performed an engine test before launch day
Successfully readied and launched the rocket without it sustaining serious damage
