My name is Kate Menake, and I am a senior graduating in May 2027 pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I have completed two six-month co-ops in R&D roles. The first was at Entegris and my most recent, which wrapped up in June, was at Cytonome. Though these positions were in different fields, semiconductors and medical devices respectively, both provided me with opportunities to develop my experience in mechanical design.

In these roles, I designed and fabricated a variety of test fixtures, tested components, and worked to improve the functionality of company machines. I gained extensive experience with SolidWorks, laser cutting, and 3D printing in addition to my hands-on experience with prototyping and testing.

These positions affirmed my interest in continuing to work on mechanical design and rapid prototyping projects, while also having the opportunity to test and evaluate components. I have also gained project experience through an aerospace club, which has further cultivated my interest in the aerospace field.

Outside of school and projects, I am the president of the Northeastern Club Gymnastics Team and a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma honor societies.
